The laboratory

The AMUP Laboratory is a joint research unit (UR 7309) directed by Florence RUDOLF (director) and Denis BOCQUET (deputy director), specialising in architectural design, urban projects and the democratisation of social and technical skills.

Objectives of the laboratory

To contribute to the structuring of architectural and urban research on the Strasbourg site and on the scale of the Upper Rhine.
Strengthen links and bridges with architectural research units in France and abroad, as well as with local authority actors.
Articulate architectural research, human and social sciences, plastic arts and engineering sciences in order to better define current metropolitan and territorial issues, particularly those related to the sustainable city.
Integrate new technologies, artistic and cultural practices and citizen expressions into architectural and urban design.
To form a body of knowledge on the sustainable metropolitan project as a social, spatial, technological and temporal process.
